Fans

Metal’s fan base is amongst the biggest, loudest, sometimes craziest, and most loyal in the music world. A great example is the other day; I was watching a DVD of a live event. It was Iron Maiden: Rock in Rio. The band was set to perform in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and the event brought in 250,000 people. Now, imagine that. 250,000 people all in one place, all going crazy, all screaming, all rejoicing as the band plays. As I’ve said before, metal’s fan base is extremely loyal, for example, if a beloved band releases an album that isn’t all that great, the fans just look forward to the next album being better. We love the music, and the music loves us. On a more personal not, it has really helped me through some very tough times in my life. It has always been there for me. It has always provided comfort, and understanding. And I think that’s what draws so many people into metal music. The fact that no matter who you are, what you’re going through, there’s something in the metal world just for you. Metal is here to stay, it will never die. It is, was, and always will be, an immortal musical behemoth that will NEVER be dethroned.
