Culture
Metal has a culture of its own. It’s unique, because there is no true way that EVERYONE dresses, or behaves, in fact, one of the only similarities that tie together ALL metalheads, world wide, is the music. However, what people usually associate with metal culture varies from hair styles, clothing styles, to behavior. Now, when u ask a complete stranger, what he/she associates the hair of a metalhead to look like, that stranger would probably say a Mohawk. And that is very common in metal and rock culture. And if you were to ask that stranger what clothes a metalhead might wear, that person will probably say clothes that are dark colored, gloomy, and baggy. And hey, why not ask the person how a metal head behaves. I think the response would be, obnoxious, out of control, possibly a drug user/drunk, secluded, maybe even scary. Well, this isn’t true for most metalheads. We are comprised of all sorts of different people, from all different walks of life, and different situations. But that is the beauty of this music. No matter who you are, no matter where you’re from, if you like metal, you already have something in common with millions, possibly billions of people. It brings us all together; it makes friends out of people who might not be good at making them. It is in my personal opinion, a positive thing for society.
